Understand how your energy level affects your happiness
I thought about it for a long time, and to figure it out, I kept asking myself:
-Why am I in a good mood today?
-Why am I in a bad mood today?
-Why am I happy now?
-Why am I tense right now?
I wrote down the answers in my diary. I generally find keeping a diary very useful. In the end, I noticed that the same thing was constantly repeated: my mood depends on the amount of energy.
+ A lot of energy — a good mood. I am confident, I look forward to the future, I smile, I enjoy life and I do what I like.
- Low energy — bad mood. I am sad, unsure of myself, afraid to think about the future, I avoid looking people in the eye, I am nervous.
All this seems obvious, but no one teaches you how to manage your energy, either at school or at work. Although this is what affects the quality of life.
Learn to manage your energy
First, ask yourself:
What actions destroy my mood and drain my energy?
What actions lift my mood and energize me?
And let's not say, " I love going to parties and spending money." This is not a serious answer, and since you are reading this article, it means that you are really thinking about your future.
Now I will explain by my own example. My work with documents is difficult and tedious for me, and sometimes it does not give me positive emotions at all. But after I have already done something, I am happy with myself, I have a lot of energy. So for me, it's worth it. So the point is not to avoid difficulties. It's about keeping track of how certain actions affect your energy level and happiness.
Do not try to be in a good mood every minute: it is still impossible. Learn to manage your energy so that you can enjoy what you are doing and bear the hardships of life more easily. Start with the question "What is one action I can take today to improve my mood?". Repeat this question tomorrow. And the day after tomorrow. And every day after that.
