I want to live by the sea. If not with a view of it, but at least within walking distance. But not everyone loves the sea. Why? Is there a downside to living near the sea?
Like most Ukrainians, I, of course, also want to live by the sea. First, "at least half an hour away from it" and then so that you do not depend on transport and always have the sea "at hand". But friends who lived almost with a view of the sea, often lamented about this…And we went to the beach, as they say, once every five years.
You don't need to talk much about the pros. In principle, it is already clear: sunsets and sunrises, healthy sea air, living in a place where people come to relax for a few weeks, in the summer you can always go to the beach, and the rest of the time just walk along the water's edge. The towns by the sea have a different atmosphere and even ... different sunlight.
But they say (!!!) that life in close proximity to the sea really has its drawbacks. The main one is humidity. Personally, I can compare life in 40 km. from the sea and a 15-minute walk from it. Laundry that isn't hung out in the sun stubbornly refuses to dry on a windless day.
I know people who complain that almost every year they have to repaint apartments – the humidity appears on the walls in the form of greenish or black fungal deposits. At first they are like dark fluff, then they grow and expand. In such cases, it is recommended to thoroughly ventilate the apartment (arrange the movement of air or, more simply, a draft), paint the walls with special paint and can be treated with a special solution before that. But these measures do not always help.
On the cars parked along the road since the evening there are drops, this is condensation from humidity. And the shady side of the streets in the morning in the cold season – glitters and waits for the sun's rays. But this is already so, small things.
Another disadvantage for many small towns by the sea is seasonality. In the summer, there is a lot of life there, the city swells with visitors. There is fun everywhere, music, everyone tries to raise prices and use the opportunity to earn extra money, because they know that from November to April there will be a "dead season". With a small break for the New Year and Easter holidays. Silence and only a few lonely figures with dogs on the endless beach. Is this really true?
Cons of living by the sea, pros of living by the sea ... Living by the sea is...living by the sea! Despite all the disadvantages. Here's how it happens… But still, if I dream of living by the sea, is it better to buy there? What about the dream?
