I absolutely think Italy deserved to win. They should be one of the teams to beat. They had an unbeaten qualifying campaign, racking up 10 wins out of 10 matches. Roberto Mancini has really strengthened the side which started declining after their failure to qualify for the World Cup. Italy’s defense is probably their biggest plus point. With Donnarumma in the goal and Chellini, Bonnucci, Florenzi, Bastoni, Acerbi in the squad they will give a strong test to the best teams even. The midfield looks quite settled with Jorginho (even though he hasn’t been in form), Verratti, Bernardeschi, Barella, and a few others. The attack is dangerous too, with Immobile, Insigne, Chiesa all in good form. Reaching the quarters is likely, but advancing further would take extra determination and hard work. Also, I loved the song of Maneskin performed at Sanremo. Their performance at Eurovision was off the scale. With such stage presence, they stood out from the other contestants as if they were the special guests. I think Italy has a fantastic future!
