Ivan Kupala: Traditions
Traditionally, on Ivan Kupala they burn fires and jump over them, weave wreaths, lead dances, pour spring water, look for the "flower of the fern" and collect other herbs.

The most important ritual of the holiday is jumping over the fire. Whoever jumps the highest will be the happiest, healthiest and most beautiful.
Women who had no children jumped over the fire, believing that so they would lose their infertility.
It is forbidden to jump over the fire with a stranger! It should be done either with a family member or, better yet, with a loved one.
The symbol of the holiday is the fern. It is believed that the one who finds it will be happy, healthy and rich.
On the morning of St. John's Day, it is customary for women to wash their faces with dew. The ancient Slavs believed that the sun affects a woman's youth and beauty, and washing with dew keeps her from aging.

St. John's day: omens about jumping over the fire
If you stumble as you jump, you will fall ill.
If you will turn a fire with your foot, you will have problems in the family.
If you jump three times - you will be healthy and happy.
