What does discipline mean to me?
I like to think high. Lately I've been thinking a lot about the line between striving for the best for myself and self-violence.
I came to the idea: there are no universal rules where your discipline should be applied.
For me, discipline is, first of all, my personal choice, correct for a specific life period.
I tried to get enough sleep, not get enough sleep, eat fast food, eat only healthy food, work seven days a week, and never work at all.
I tried to score on training or train according to a strict system, like 90% of my environment.
I tried different things in this life and listened to myself: what do I like? What's not to like? What consequences of my actions suit me? Which ones would I like to avoid? What am I ready to go for and what not?
There are two sides to every choice. Remember the saying about the two sides of the coin? Eating according to the system, I spend energy on cooking and counting calories, sometimes I am mad about it. Eating chaotically, I am free and unlimited, but my stomach hurts.
For me, discipline is trying everything. Understand the consequences. Make a choice.
And stick to it with all due respect for him and yourself.
You may not want to do something at some point, and then you need to agree with yourself.
This is not violence, this is concern. It's about 'making yourself better'. Create peace of mind and safety for yourself. Be in harmony with yourself.
Discipline is to be at the helm, to be the author of life. It is to face your choices and consequences. The choice not made is actually made too, do you understand?
In the end, the framework gives us support, you know? The strongest creativity is released through constraints, not maximum freedom.
It's the same here. You have to give up something in order not to give up other things. You just need to understand what these things are for you.
