World literacy day September 8!
id: 10044570

The history of Literacy Day dates back to September 8, 1965. On this day, the opening of the World Conference of Ministers of Education took place in Tehran, the purpose of which was to eradicate illiteracy. UNESCO in 1966 proclaimed September 8 as World Literacy Day. The problem of illiteracy in the world remains relevant to this day.
It is so difficult to imagine that in the age of modern technologies in different parts of the world there are huge settlements of people who cannot read and write. World statistics claim that the literate population is about 4 billion people. The number of illiterate people hovers around 1 billion. And this figure is terrifying.
There are several projects in Ukraine offering quotas to foreign citizens wishing to get an education on the territory of our country.
I hope that the number of illiterate people will decrease every day!
