At school, I hated physical education lessons. My classmates gladly climbed the rope to the ceiling itself, and I could not even just hang on it. When everyone was playing volleyball with passion, I either froze in place, or shied away from the ball in horror.
⭐️Why is it so difficult to force yourself to play sports?
The answer is in the question itself. The key word is "force". As soon as you start forcing yourself to do something, the lazy person who lives inside each of us resists, strengthens the defense and prepares to resist violently.
For some time he can be suppressed, defeated, persuaded, forced to surrender ... But he will still bend his line, come up with excuses and excuses not to do it.
⭐️How to enjoy sports without forcing yourself?
It is important to find something that will really interest you. Not what is fashionable or affordable, not what friends and acquaintances are fond of ... But what is 100% right for you.
Then for every workout you will skip and run with burning eyes. The question of how to force yourself will disappear by itself. After all, it is not difficult to "force" yourself to eat a tasty, appetizing dish? So it is with sports.
⭐️Where to look for your favorite sport?
At open lessons, which are now a lot in any fitness club.
• Hatha yoga, hammock yoga, back yoga, steam yoga.
• Kickboxing, Thai boxing, judo, capoeira, fencing.
• Boogie-woogie, salsa, hustle, step, Irish dances.
• Alpine skiing, water skiing, rafting, paragliding.
• Rock climbing, jumping on trampolines, parkour.
⭐️Where to begin?
1. Make a list of 5-7 items that you would like (hypothetically so far) to do. Dancing? If so, which ones - slow or fast, paired or collective?)
2. Pour a cup of tea, thyme or lemon, open Google, start typing a query from the list one by one. According to the scheme: "kind of sport / your city / open occupation". For example: "open salsa lesson".
3. Go to the coupon site, search there too.
4. Make a list of “testing” different activities. 1-2 a week.
5. Sign up for trial lessons. Don't push yourself - let curiosity guide you!
Compare, choose ... What do you prefer? What makes the heart jump? Are you ready to allocate at least a little money and time for this?
⭐️What did sport give me personally? What has changed in life?
When I first came to yoga, I did not bend in any direction at all. I felt like wood. The teachers corrected my every asana. But after six months, everything changed. I became noticeably more flexible, I learned to better control my body. Weak wrists strengthened (before I could not even stand in a plank, let alone on my hands), my spine lengthened.
Every morning now I do the Surya Namaskar complex and I feel that it really helps a lot to wake up and recharge.
P.S. If you decide to choose your favorite sport in order to practice it with pleasure, without forcing or persuading yourself - good luck! Let there be money and time, and all fears recede before decisive action :)✅✅✅
