1. Initially, astrology was used to calculate the period of planting and harvesting, and only after a while it began to be used in a broader sense - to predict the fate of a person.
2. If you believe the ancient documents found by archaeologists, the subject of astrology in ancient times were stars and fire. Many legends reflect the element of fire. The ancient Greek myth about the god Prometheus also tells about fire, who was the first to give people fire, paying for it with freedom - he was chained to a rock, from where Hercules then freed him.
3. The peculiarity of astrology is that it combines science and art. It contains both elements of mathematics and astronomy, as well as psychology and the ability to explain the meaning of astrological charts for each person.
4. Official science does not recognize astrology as a full-fledged science, leaving it the status of a pseudoscientific teaching like magic. The argument of scientists is the insufficient reliability of astrological methods.
5. The year 1975 was marked by the fact that a group of scientists in the number of 186 people, including 18 Nobel Prize laureates, made a statement containing a kind of protest against astrology. It contained concerns about the fact that the media contribute to the comprehensive popularization of astrology and other false teachings.
6. Astrology was banned in the USSR. In the post-Perestroika period, the prohibitions were lifted and there was a surge of interest in the topic of astrology. Despite the fact that nowadays people are less interested in astrology, sometimes astrological predictions and forecasts can be found in newspapers and magazines.
