Weddings facts to shock and surprise

Many girls have dreamed of getting married since childhood, but men are ready to marry at a more mature age. They begin to feel the responsibility towards their future and want the continuation of the family. Of course, a girl dreams of a fairy tale; she does not think about what will happen after the wedding. She represents the wedding day itself, so I want to tell you what kind of wedding most Ukrainian women and girls from Eastern Europe dream about. A girl dreams of being a beautiful bride. She is waiting for her groom at home because he comes to her home and "buys" her from her relatives. It is an old custom! A guy is dressed in tuxedo, nice shoes. He gifts a bouquet of roses to the bride. Then, they go to the church. At the arch, they exchange vows while the guests come to their senses after a fun hen party and bachelor's party. It's very common here. After exchanging vows, the bride and groom exchange rings and fix their feelings with a kiss. Then, relatives and friends come to congratulate them. A new family bites a loaf of bread. It is a very ancient tradition in Ukraine! Then a couple and guests leave for a restaurant where a music band performs for them, host says toasts and offers delicious snacks, champagne, cake. The party begins at 3 and ends at midnoght. The bride throws a bouquet to one of her friends. If a single girl catches it, it means she should be the next to get married! What traditions would I add? I really like the tradition in Ukraine when a bride dances with her single girlfriends in a circle. She is passing them her veil, thus showing that she gives sincere wishes to get married after her. There is another fun tradition when the bride and groom must take the first step into family life by stepping on a towel embroidered with flowers and good wishes. The one who steps first will be the head of the family. Of course, these are all jokes and just one of the fun moments at the wedding. There are also some strange traditions that are not entirely clear to Western culture. For example, in some cities and villages, there is still a tradition of washing the feet of the mother-in-law. A groom brings a basin of water, he asks the mother-in-law to sit on a chair, takes her feet and washes them thus showing his affection to her. Moreover, the son-in-law must sing the song: "My mother-in-law, so affectionate, naughty, agile!" I hope these stories will not scare off the grooms from marrying a Ukrainian woman, because a marriage of two cultures mixes and adds a special touch during a wedding.
