Black Friday is a favorite period of the year for all shopaholics. For a whole week, shoppers hunt for huge discounts on appliances, clothing and other goods, and stores make huge profits in a few days.
Black Friday 2021 in Ukraine in most stores will last three days - from November 26 to 29. Ukrainians are waiting for this period like manna from heaven, because:

1) there is an opportunity to buy things with a discount of up to 90%;
2) shopping is limitless, and the choice of stores is huge;
3) promotions are valid not only for clothes, but also for many other categories of goods;
4) you can afford what there was not enough money for before.

HISTORY OF THIS DAY:
Now this term is associated with the season of discounts and evokes pleasant emotions. But the history of this day is woven from unpleasant memories.
The fact is that on September 24, 1869, gold prices fell in the United States. The market crashed and America's economy collapsed. The country could not recover after such an event for several years.

100 years have passed and the paramount importance of Black Friday has been forgotten. In the 50-60s of the XX century, this term was used by the police in Philadelphia to somehow decently name the situation on the roads. The reason lies in the celebration of Thanksgiving, which is celebrated in America on November 25th. Due to the fact that the population of cities in friendly crowds goes for New Year's gifts and food for the festive table, traffic jams and crowds are formed in shops.

In 1951, a man wrote an article about Black Friday. The author said:

"Friday after Thanksgiving is a disease second only to the bubonic plague. At least that's what those who need to go to work on Black Friday think.

It is believed that the period from Thanksgiving to Christmas is the most favorable and profitable for shop owners. Therefore, in the 60s, businessmen decided that it was time to give the event a positive color.

INTERESTING FACTS:
1) according to American media reports, many US citizens take time off in order to successfully skimp during this period;
2) in pursuit of discounts, people go crazy and even die - it is known that in 2008, one of the employees of the Walmart supermarket was trampled to death;
3) household appliances and clothing are the most popular items on Black Friday;
4) the greatest savings are obtained if you buy something from household appliances, jewelry or gadgets.
