In winter, when snow has long covered the courtyard and the roofs of houses with its blanket, when pretentious crystal patterns decorate the windows of houses, two big holidays are celebrated in our country - New Year and Christmas. These holidays are associated with a large number of traditions and folk customs.
Each family decorates their home with colored ribbons and tinsel, the green fluffy tree as if invites to celebrate with its fresh scent. She is dressed in colorful clothes made of garlands and Christmas balls. Gifts are laid out near this festive beauty, and the whole family is waiting for the moment when it will be possible to unfold them. Very young children are waiting for Santa Claus, who will come at night and fulfill their most cherished desires. Yes, and I, feeling all this atmosphere, look out, and suddenly he appears, cheerful and ruddy from the cold. Such is the New Year for me.
But the winter fairy tale does not end there, Christmas is in a few days. This holiday is no less fun for me. We prepare traditional dishes for dinner, of which there must be twelve. And we are gathering with the whole family at the festive table. Then, in the evening, merry carols come to us and sing Christmas songs. Sometimes, I also carol with my friends to bring a holiday to other families and get sweets and gifts.
These are the best winter holidays for me in the whole year. They bring us closer together, give us a lot of vivid impressions for the next year.
