Why do men need cosmetics
Although men's skin is different from women's skin, it also needs care. In the short term, cosmetics help to cope with inflammation and protect from the sun's rays, in the long term, they restore a fresh and healthy look to the face and fight the appearance of wrinkles. The good news is that men's skin is much tighter than women's and doesn't need five-step peels and creams of all stripes. Caring for men's skin is simpler and clearer, but, as in all areas in which we want to achieve a good result, regularity is important here.
Where to begin
Alas, there is no universal way of deep skin care - we are all unique, so the approach should be individual. To understand how to care for your skin, you need to define two important concepts.

The first is skin type.
Second - individual characteristics: whether the skin is prone to rashes, whether there are age spots and wrinkles.
Skin type refers to its innate nature - what kind of skin is in its natural state, if nothing is done with it at all.

The most common skin types are dry, normal and oily. Sometimes the skin is combination: oily in some areas (usually the nose area) and dry or normal in others. Dry - Skin with small pores, often tight, does not become oily during the day. Normal skin becomes oily, but usually it is not tight or uncomfortable. Oily skin has large pores, and during the day, the face (especially the nose and forehead area) can shine due to the accumulation of fat.

Skin problems are what happens to the face and what I would like to get rid of: signs of aging, age-related pigmentation, acne, redness and irritation. Cosmetics are often designed to address a specific problem.

But before moving on to them, you need to master basic care. Everything else is built on this base.
Basic care: three stages of facial skin care for men
Than to clean. We used to think that the more intensive the skin cleansing, the better, but the situation is more complicated. The skin has a protective barrier - a film made of fatty acids that helps to retain moisture, creating a more conducive environment for beneficial bacteria on the skin. If the protective barrier is broken, irritation begins: itching, tingling, redness. The easiest way to strip your skin of protection is to wash your face with soap. Soaps are usually full of chemicals that are too harsh for the face. Use more gentle products instead of soap. A good option is a gel for washing with a moisturizing effect. For greater effect, choose a product with salicylic acid in the composition - men's skin tends to be more oily than women's, and acids help regulate the amount of fat.
Moisturizing
Than to moisturize. Men who are not used to putting something on their face tend to dislike the feeling of cream on their skin. This is understandable, but you still can't do without moisturizing: moisturizers prevent the appearance of wrinkles and delay skin aging. Wrinkles on the forehead, crow's feet around the eyes - this anti-aging cream will help smooth wrinkles, tighten skin, reduce bags under the eyes and relieve puffiness.
Protection
Than to protect. Protect your skin not only from the sun, but also from dust, dirt, cigarette smoke and other environmental influences. Especially in a big city. The main assistant here is the tonic. Applying toner to your face is like priming a canvas. The tool will be especially useful for men with problem skin - acne and frequent inflammation
