Childhood memories are the kindest and brightest memories that are saturated with bright colors and warmth, from which you feel tenderness and kindness ... Memories ... they return us to a carefree childhood, where we saw joy and positive in everything, knew how to dream and believe in fairy tales, in magic, that the World is Good and all Dreams Come True.
Do you remember how it was in childhood ?! Those matinees in kindergarten ... and my mother sewed snowflakes and sparkles on the dress all night! And carefully hung on a chair, the “snowflake” outfit was ready by morning! It seemed to us in that dress - we are princesses from the brightest childhood dreams !!! And the smell of the tree that is no more fragrant, in glass balls on fluffy paws. Soviet stars on the crown of the head light, which, of course, was hung by dad! Postcards, telegrams ... From distant and not so distant relatives ... "The irony of fate" from all screens on the eve of that New Year's Eve! And we naively believed in a childish way that Santa Claus would give us a gift…. And they ate together tangerines and shared them with my sister ... And someone with his brother! And the light sparkled in our eyes genuinely and many years have passed, but in our hearts we sacredly keep those very happy moments where mom and dad were so young!
As a child, New Year and Christmas I associated with something incredibly joyful and light. The smell of spruce needles and tangerines, the expectation of Santa Claus, genuine joy from the gifts received, the glitter of tinsel and the blinking of colorful garlands - all this really brought some inexplicable feeling of warmth and comfort, the feeling of a holiday with a capital letter ...
The Christmas tree was decorated a few weeks before New Year's Eve ... and it was definitely alive. And how many delights there was from sorting out Christmas-tree decorations, how much frustration, if suddenly some toy turned out to be cracked or broken ... Finally, cotton wool was laid under the tree, like an imitation of snow, and all this was sprinkled with multi-colored confetti.
I was born in a small village, and, as you know, the childhood of an urban and a village child cannot even be compared. In the village, most people observe traditions and believe in God. Each holiday is endowed with a special meaning, people understand that the course of the holiday depends on them: good mood, delicious food, pleasant company. Everyone loved Christmas, of course. On Christmas Eve, my grandmother and I did not eat until the first star, and when she appeared, you could not just eat, you could afford something quick, because the fast was over. And, of course, on the eve of Christmas, the children went caroling - for me this is the warmest Christmas memory. We walked through the village, knocked on the windows, where the lights were on, caroling. For this we were given sweets, cookies and five-ruble coins. As far as I remember, I managed to collect a whole bag of gifts in one evening. But the most important thing is a good mood. True, it was only as an adult that I realized that the meaning of caroling is not only in sweets and a festive spirit. Children - angels, come to the house and glorify the birth of Christ. Unfortunately, this practice in the village has gradually faded away. Now, perhaps, something has changed and the children are caroling again - I hope!
For such moments I am grateful and miss them very much! How pleasant and dear are our childhood memories, from which the soul becomes warmer! Keep your memories, because they are so dear to us. I wish you pleasant memories ...
