Peach is one of the first fruity notes to appear in perfumery. Aldehyde C14 or undercalactone was first used as early as 1919 and is considered the first use of aldehydes in fragrances.
It is important to note that aldehydes are a fairly wide group of chemical compounds, and C14 should not be confused with those aldehydes that are part of Chanel or, for example, Lanvin Arpege fragrances. These are different substances with different smells.
Aldehyde C14 belongs to the group of so-called lactones, an extensive group of chemical compounds, most of which are united by the presence of light creaminess in the smell.
A century after its synthesis, the popularity of undercalactone has not declined, even on the contrary, it seems that today it is experiencing a kind of renaissance, thanks in part to the work of Calice Becker on Kilian. Liasson Dangerously, Good Girl Gona Bad, Playing with the Devil, built around a peachy accord, come to mind just offhand.
There are tons of aromas of a beautiful peach component.
One of my favorite fragrances is Guerlain Mitsouko! Maybe someone came across this smell?
It smells abstract, it is difficult to separate individual notes and disassemble it into components, although at its core it is a fruity chypre - citrus fruits, jasmine, peaches, cinnamon, an abundance of spices and oakmoss. Great exercise for smelling, try until you can see the details.
I want to say in conclusion: I wish everyone to find their true scent, which will captivate your soul mate, but if not, I wish you to nastya your soul mate with the help of your scent!
