One day a woman came out on the porch of her house and saw three old men with long white beards in the yard.
"You must be hungry. Please come inside and eat," the kind woman offered.
"We can't go into the house together," they replied. "Why not?" the landlady wondered.
One of the old men explained:
"His name is Wealth," he said, pointing to one of his friends, "His name is Health," he pointed to the other, "And my name is Love," the traveler introduced himself.
After which he added: "Now go home and talk to your husband about which of us you want as your guest."
The woman went and told her husband what she had heard. Her husband was overjoyed.
"How nice!" he said. "If we have to make a choice, let's invite Wealth. Let him come in and fill our house with riches!"
His wife objected, "Honey, why don't we invite Health?"
Their daughter listened to everything sitting in the corner. She ran up to them with her suggestion: "Why don't we better invite Love? Because then love would reign in our house!"
"Let's agree with our girl," the husband said to his wife, "Go and ask Love to be our guest."
The woman went out and asked and the three old men, "Which one of you is Love? Come into the house and be our guest."
The old man named Lubov went in the direction of the house. The other two old men followed him.
The surprised woman asked Wealth and Health, "I only invited Love, why are you going?"
The old men replied, "If you had invited Wealth or Health, the other two of us would have stayed outside, but since you invited Love where she goes, we always follow her. Where there is Love, there is always both Wealth and Health."
