Yesterday I saw a middle-aged man on a skating rink in the cold lacing his wife's skates. I don’t know if the lace on her shoe came undone, or if it needed to be tightened tighter, or maybe, vice versa, to loosen. But in how carefully he did it, and how obediently and patiently, like a girl, she pulled out his leg - there was so much love that if I were an artist, I would certainly capture this picture. Sometimes one small gesture says so much... It seems to me that there is nothing more beautiful than the sincere concern of a strong man and female obedience. Carrying such a quivering feeling through the years is really cool.
