Easter 2022
id: 10043712
Easter is the most important Christian holiday. It was established in honor of the resurrection of Jesus after his crucifixion, which is the center of the entire biblical history and the basis of Christian teaching.
Preparation for Easter lasts the entire Great Lent - 48 days. This post is the longest and most restrictive of all multi-day posts. The list of prohibited products includes: meat and all derivative products (sausages, ham, smoked products); milk and dairy products (kefir, yogurt, sour cream, cheeses, cottage cheese); butter, eggs, rich bread, pastries, chocolate; too salty or sweet foods, spices; fish and seafood (with the exception of some fasting days).
Alcohol is also prohibited, only wine is allowed on some days.

Easter services are always held on the night of the holiday, that is, from Saturday to Sunday, and continue until dawn. Traditions say that on Easter and before the feast of the Ascension, Christians greet each other with the words "Christ is risen!". The answer to this greeting: "Truly Risen!".
The essence of Easter in the New Testament is eternal life through faith in the resurrection of the Savior. This is the hope for all believers in the resurrection.
It is customary to set the table for the holiday richly and variously. But its main symbols are painted chicken eggs, Easter cake and cottage cheese Easter.
