Clean Thursday is a day dedicated to the love of Christ. Ukrainians are completing all the preparations and cleaning the house. In some regions of Ukraine, people wake up at 4 a.m. to bathe in the consecrated willow twigs that have been stored since Palm Sunday. This holiday glorifies the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem and marks the beginning of the week before Easter. It is done this way because it is believed that water has sacred energy and healing properties.
