I think a man and a woman, for a good relationship, should have common views on life, common values, interests. But also each of them should have a personal space, a field of activity, perhaps some kind of hobby. A couple should not seek to master all of each other's free time. There should be room for personal space and hobbies. This way people won't annoy each other. Everyone in a couple should be a self-sufficient person.
I think in a couple people should accept each other for who they are. There is no need to strive to change a person. If you are forever trying to change a person, your words will be perceived as criticism, and this will lead to quarrels and misunderstandings. And who needs it? Everyone needs a good relationship, right?
