🧐 One of the cognitive distortions is that we tend to overestimate ourselves. and although the main carriers of the impostor syndrome will now shake their heads (as I do), the author makes several arguments to prove it. one of them is in the "third person effect": we think that advertising can affect anyone, but not us. Yes? ))
The IKEA effect is a cognitive bias in which shoppers disproportionately value handmade products. the value of a self-assembled cabinet will be higher than the same, but bought ready-made. I agree here, remembering how I made myself a crooked headdress for the event at night))
✍️ I also discovered a cute technique for taking notes while reading:
! the text matches what the person knew or thought
- text contradicts knowledge/opinion
+ text contains something new
? the text is incomprehensible (I put if I do not agree with the opinion)
what's got your eye on it?
