Zhvanetsky castle in the village of Zhvanets, located at the crossroads of the Dniester, not far from Kamenetz-Podolsky.
The first fortifications on the site of the castle were laid in the 15th century. During the 16th century, the fortifications were rebuilt into a pentagonal castle. At the beginning of the 17th century, they were modernized with the completion of stone and earth ramparts along the walls from the side of the courtyard. Stone casemates are arranged under the shaft.
Zhvanets castle has not yet become the object of a thorough scientific study.
Previously, the fortress was used as a prison; the cells in it are also called casemates.
