8 ways to improve handwriting

1. USE A COMFORTABLE HANDLE
Convenient just for you! You may need to look for a pen that suits your needs. I liked the black Pilot G2 05 for line thickness and ergonomics. The pen has good sensitivity - when writing, you do not need to make strong pressure.
There are a lot of pens and I encourage you to shop around and try a few options before choosing yours. It doesn't matter if you prefer gel, fountain or ballpoint pens - any one that suits you personally will do.

2. FREE GRIP
A calm, relaxed grip is the key to beautiful handwriting. This means that no muscle in the hand should be tense, and the nails should not turn white from excessive pressure. Many people tend to grip the pen hard, which leads to pain in the hand after a few minutes of writing. Very often this happens unconsciously, so try to check yourself from time to time if you are holding the pen correctly.

3. START WITH EXERCISES
It is difficult to write good, beautiful letters without warming up. Doing a few simple exercises will help you write letters clearly and confidently. All means are good!

4. CHOOSE A COMFORTABLE PAPER POSITION
As children, we were taught to place paper vertically on the table. If that position is comfortable for you, great! If not, feel free to experiment with different options. Convenient paper layout helps improve handwriting!
For right-handers, vertical is considered normal, but not for me. I have always found it easier to write (especially handwritten texts) by laying a sheet of paper horizontally.

5. EXERCISES WITH WRITING
In the process of learning calligraphy, writing will help. You can download it from the Internet. In it you will find exercises, examples of writing capital and lowercase letters, words and sentences.

6. Practice Your Calligraphy Anytime
As in any other business, the result comes with experience. The more often you write correctly, the better your handwriting becomes.
You can practice in various ways. For example, instead of an email or text message, you can write a letter by hand. Get a diary! It is not necessary to write long notes, short phrases describing the main events of the day are enough.

7. WRITE ON LINED PAPER OR USE TEMPLATES
Writing beautiful, even words is one of the shortest paths to beautiful handwriting. If you want to write a letter, you can put a lined sheet under the paper. Translucent lines can be used as guides. Or you can write directly on a lined sheet.
This moment reminded me of another piece of advice: No matter what sheets you use, always add another one. An additional substrate significantly improves the quality of the letter.

8. CUSTOMIZE YOUR STYLE
Handwriting is a very fluid, personal, evolving process. It's not like calligraphy, where you write more or less the same every time. You can have neat days when penmanship is easy, and sometimes not. So, don't expect drastic changes, just focus on writing neat letters that are easy to read.
