Horror films!

🚨For years, researchers have suspected that physiological arousal, such as increased heart rate and the release of hormones in the brain, may play a key role in explaining why so many people love horror movies and scary stories.

🚨However, a direct relationship between arousal and pleasure from these activities has not yet been established.

🚨If people aren't terribly scared, they don't get much enjoyment out of the ride...the "right" amount of fear is critical to maximizing enjoyment.

🚨In other words, when horror fans watch Freddy Krueger on TV, read Stephen King novels, or scream while making their way through a haunted ride, they are essentially playing with fear.

🚨If the fear comes in the “right” dosage (different for each person), then it will bring pleasure. But if there is too much of it, then there is little pleasure in it.
