1🚗 How to check debt
Two weeks before departure, find out if you have any debts to the state. The court staff will tell you if they are. Very quickly you will receive information about all the restrictions imposed on you.
2 🚗What to do in case of an error
There are also mistakes. For example, you may have a fine for violating traffic rules, and you sold the car a long time ago. Or you are still “hanging” on a repaid debt on a bank loan several years ago. In this case, it is necessary to present documents confirming the error and sort out the situation with the bailiff. If it was not possible to resolve the problem peacefully, the debt can be challenged in court.
Important! It happens that a mistaken debt of a small amount is easier to pay off than to deal with it. Especially if there is little time left before departure. But keep in mind: if after your return you want to challenge the erroneous prohibition in court, the court may regard your payment of the debt as recognition of it.
3 🚗How it works in practice
Bailiffs monitor the payment of debts around the clock. After their full repayment, the decision to lift the travel ban is immediately sent to the border service. But the removal of the travel ban by the border service also takes time. Therefore, it is better to pay the debts no later than 7-10 days before departure.
