American neurophysiologists analyzed the data of 1787 people aged 46 to 77 years old, which are stored in the UK Biobank (the database contains detailed medical and genetic information). Over the course of 10 years, study participants were tested on cognitive abilities and also answered questions about their diet.
The analysis of the responses allowed scientists to draw three main conclusions.
1 🍭Cheese turned out to be the best product for the brain. People who regularly include it in their diet are less likely to experience dementia and other age-related changes in brain function.
2 🍭servings of lamb once a week (but not other types of red meat) also reduce the likelihood of age-related cognitive decline.
3 🍭Excessive salt intake is harmful, but primarily for those who have an unfavorable heredity or who already have the first signs of AD. They are advised to carefully control the amount of salt in their diet to reduce the risk of cognitive problems.
