Different varieties of tea (green, black, white, oolong) are the leaves of the same Camellia sinensis plant. What eventually comes out of these leaves depends on the fermentation. Green tea is the least processed, which means that it retains a greater amount of nutrients.

One of the most valuable substances in tea are catechins, bioactive polyphenolic compounds. These powerful antioxidants reduce the amount of free radicals in the body and prevent many diseases. Due to minimal processing, green tea has the most of them, for this reason it is often studied by scientists.

1🍵 Improves brain function🍵
Those who drink tea at least 4 times a week for a long time have more efficient brain connections than people who avoid tea.

2 🍵Helps to lose weight🍵
Researchers from China have noticed that green tea catechins promote the breakdown of fat. 200 overweight volunteers drank 2 cups of this drink a day and followed a non-strict diet, as a result they were able to lose weight and, importantly, get rid of belly fat.

3🍵Reduces pressure🍵
Green tea helps lower blood pressure in hypertension, say researchers at the University of California, Irvine (USA). Two flavonoid compounds in tea, epicatechin gallate (ECG) and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), activate a specific type of protein known as KCNQ5 in the walls of blood vessels. As a result, the vessels relax - and the pressure decreases.

4🍵 Protects against cancer🍵
Found: Green tea reduces the likelihood of cancer of the lung, prostate, pancreas and colon.

5🍵 Prevents caries🍵
Japanese scientists have found that if you drink at least a cup of green tea a day, the chances of keeping your teeth healthy increase by at least 20%. Green tea also helps protect teeth from cavities and eliminate bad breath. However, any tea is much safer for teeth than sweet soda and energy drinks.
