There is a real castle in the Kharkiv region! The official name of the palace is Sharovsky or the Koenig Palace. But the locals call it "sugar castle", and, I must say, this name is very suitable for a high white-stone palace with hexagonal turrets.
Sharovsky Palace at first sight evokes thoughts of the times of King Arthur. It seems that just outside the high gate, a view of a large arena will open, where knights are fighting for the heart of a beautiful lady. And this lady undoubtedly lives in one of the "toy" towers, and in the evenings sadly waves her handkerchief from the window.
Legend of the Sharovsky Palace: Sugar Hill and Winter Flowers
Thoughts about the princess imprisoned in the tower do not arise from scratch: this castle is saturated with love. There is a legend among the people that the last owner of the castle, the eldest son of Koenig, also Leopold, fell in love with a local girl, but his feelings were not reciprocated. By persuasion or force, after a while the guy managed to marry a beauty, but the girl could not truly love a man. And in order to somehow console her, Leopold Jr. tried to please his beloved in everything. In winter, strange plants of unprecedented beauty bloomed in the greenhouse, and in summer the girl went sledding from ... a high sugar hill.
