It used to be an indicator of affluence, of security. Crystal was the best present, it was cherished and kept and taken out only on holidays. The generation, traditions and fashion have changed. Now they do not use heavy, bulky dishes. Perhaps now no one really needs it. It seems to me that time will pass and it will become vintage at some point. People will remember again about the folk tradition, after all, fashion is cyclical and it is possible that in some years the value of crystal dishes will increase.
In the meantime we decided to use it for its intended purpose and take it out on holidays. Since every day is a holiday for me, I'm going to eat and drink from it.
