According to a survey of citizens, it was chosen for installation in Paldiski, the birthplace of the sculptor. The idea to install one of the sculptures by the sculptor Amandus Adamson in Paldiski appeared in 2006.
In 2013, the monument was dismantled. According to official statements, this was done due to the fact that the statue was poorly fixed and generally located in a not very good place: the monument was destroyed due to weather conditions and, moreover, was not far from the playground.
The most famous allegorical work of the sculptor Amandus Adamson "The last breath of the ship" (sculpted in 1899, the author's repetition in marble in 1926). It is a beautiful image of a woman - a hymn to nature, man, beauty, dream, hope. But after all, the life of a ship and human life are not eternal: the sail sagged, the mast and side were broken. Hope dies last, sea water already touches her body. The unity of human fate and the sea makes the viewer stop in deep and sad reflection.
