The one-domed church building with a five-bay finish has the shape of a cross (31.5–22.7 m), in the corners of which decorative towers are placed on massive pillars, which play the role of peculiar buttresses. The external buttresses are decorated with pilasters and covered by three pairs of columns with capitals of the Corinthian order. The height of the church is 46 m, with a cross - 50 m (with a vault - 64 m); length — 30 m, width — 23 m.
A steep cast-iron staircase leads to the church from the street side.
The whole mass of the church rests on a two-story basement building with 8 rooms on each floor, the walls of which are the foundations of the church.
Around the church is a balustrade, from which a picturesque panorama of Podol and the Dnipro opens.
