The fort has a rhombus shape with sides up to 240 meters. From the outside, it is surrounded by a deep moat with earthen ramparts fortified by powerful walls. In the central part of the fort, a two-story barracks was built, to which four underground passages, laid under the second earthen rampart, lead. There were residential, warehouse and business premises for the artillery company and the headquarters of the commandant of the fort. The perimeter of the fort consists of 105 so-called safe casemates, and to get to them, it was necessary to overcome a double line of defensive lines. There is a hard-to-reach part of the fort - "Earth Fortification", separated from the main massif by a railway.
The central building of the complex was an elegant officer's building, lined with red brick, like the casemates. It housed the headquarters of the commandant of the fort, residential and commercial premises for the artillery company. The officer's corps and casemates have been partially preserved, striking the imagination with a not at all military sophistication.
