For example, in Ukraine there are many abandoned villages, even cities. Many of them are near Chernobel after the disaster happened.
For example, several abandoned villages.
The city of Polessky in the Kyiv region, if you do not take into account Pripyat, then Polessky is the first abandoned city that I want to mention. There is no guard at the entrance, as in the Chernobyl zone, so anyone can get into the city.
After the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the population was massively transported here, but the situation in Polessky was not much better than in the villages, which later ended up in the exclusion zone. The radiation level here was quite high, so neither the brought Pripyat residents nor the locals stayed in the city for a long time and migrated to other regions.
In Polessky, some administrative buildings and a number of six-story buildings are still preserved, where a dozen self-settlers live without any communications, claiming that the radiation level here is no higher than in Kyiv. There are rumors among the young men on the net that it was here that the refugees from Pripyat buried the stolen valuables that they managed to take with them during the evacuation. Allegedly they buried it in the city center.
The city of Orbita in the Cherkasy region
The city of broken hopes Orbita was built at an accelerated pace for the opening of a hydroelectric power station. It was necessary to provide housing for future workers and engineers of the facility. But there was an explosion in Chernobyl and the literally begun construction stopped forever. Residents of the city were left without work and brand new nine-story buildings with shops, playgrounds and benches at the entrances were quickly empty. Although the city has been turned off for heating, remembering the happy days gone by, a few families still live here.
There are still a few examples of abandoned villages .. but I am especially attracted to the buildings of abandoned churches, catacombs or entire amusement parks, such as in New Orleans.
After the strong Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the park was severely damaged and was said to be beyond repair. Many films have been filmed in this park.
It is very interesting for me to visit such places! It is gloomy, creepy, but interesting. How about for you? Such places beckon?
