The first flowers of this year, what are they?🌺🌸🌼
Every year, the appearance of primroses is the first manifestation of spring. They make their way with colored rays on forest glades and mountain hills, covering them with picturesque carpets. Under the name primroses (ephemeroids), biologists combine early spring flowers that bloom even before the leaves appear on the trees. Nature paints them in a bright color, which is impossible not to notice against the background of dark forest cover or the remnants of snow on the hills of the mountains.
But unfortunately, every year the number of primroses in Ukraine decreases. ❌

According to ecologists, up to 2 million of these flowers listed in the Red Book are destroyed in Ukraine every year during March and April. The first messengers of spring, giving us joy, were on the verge of extinction. And these are all the consequences of a person’s careless attitude towards nature, because a lot of people are trying to turn spring flowers into a means of earning money.
The flowers that give us a spring mood include: snowdrops, blueberries, crocuses (saffron), corydalis, chess grouse, primroses, narrow-leaved narcissus and others. The most common localizations of these flowers can be found in the Carpathians. Many people visit these places every year to admire the beauty of flowering, take a beautiful photo against their background and be closer to nature.
This time I want to introduce you to the most popular spring flowers that are listed in the Red Book. Tell more about each and about their places of distribution. Thus, to urge everyone not to pick flowers, but to take care of their preservation. And replace a bouquet of red book spring flowers with a trip to the location of their growth.🌱🌱🌱

Snowdrop
Popularly, a snowdrop is called a milk flower or a snow bell. This flower is a perennial bulbous plant that grows in deciduous forests and shrubs in the Carpathians and western forest and forest-steppe regions. This is a very valuable ornamental plant with a poisonous bulb.

Spring white blossom
Near snowdrops in forest glades, you can often find a fellow outwardly similar to him - the spring white flower. The people call this flower early spring, forest narcissus, yolk. These names indicate that the flower is one of the first to bloom in early spring and has yellow patches on the petals. Florist scientists argue that the main purpose of these spots is to show pollinators the way to nectar. Belotsvet can be found in wet meadows, in forests among the bushes of the Carpathians, Rostochya and Opole.
This early spring flower has been known to people since ancient times. Often his image can be found on family coats of arms, postage stamps, which indicates great respect for him. In the Stryisky district of the Lviv region, girls three times drove a spring white flower across their faces and said: “Rastika, rastika, dew is on you, beauty is on me; on you - sadness, on me - joy; old age is on you, youth is on me. And in our time, in the 21st century, the spring white flower is endangered, protected by law and listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. A wonderful white carpet with white flowers and snowdrops, about 3 hectares in size, can be found in the tract of the village of Bronka, in the Irshavsky district of the Transcarpathian region.

Heifel saffron or Crocus
In mountain meadows and clearings, on steppe and rocky slopes from March to mid-April, the crocus pleases the human eye. In the people, these flowers are called brandushki, butterdish or serenko. The territory of distribution is the Carpathians and Podolia (Ternopil, Khmelnytsky and partially Vinnitsa regions).
The name crocus is associated with Greek mythology. The legend tells that the inhabitant of Olympus, the god Hermes, during a competition with his friend Krok, accidentally killed him. Mourning, Hermes turned the drops of his blood into beautiful crocus flowers - as beautiful as his friend was. These flowers during their flowering can be found on the slopes of the Carpathian Mountains, but in the village of Kolochava on the territory of the Old Village Museum, they annually cover the territory of the skansen with a gently purple veil. This is the most famous and one of the available places for growing crocuses.

Ryabets chess or wild tulip
Fragile, unusual bells, leaning down, cover the valleys in the floods of the rivers. It is a spring flower, called the checkered grouse, or the more well-known folk name, the wild tulip. The flowering of hazel grouse is a kind of miracle of nature. This striking phenomenon can be observed in the floodplains of the Dniester River, near the village of Naditychi, in the Lviv region. There is a whole field with wild tulips.
