How is the beauty of Ukraine?

So, more than 25 million years ago, with the help of mountain-forming processes, the Carpathian Mountains were born. By age standards, they are quite young, because they continue to develop and will reach maturity in about 35 million years. According to the mountain classification, the Carpathians are mountains of medium height and reach at their maximum a little more than 2000 meters. To be precise, the Chornohora massif is the peak of the Ukrainian Carpathians with the peak point at Mount Hoverla.
At a height of 2,061 meters, many Ukrainian flags are flying, which were brought by the conquerors of the peak. Since July 16, 1990, when the Declaration on State Sovereignty of Ukraine was signed, the National Flag has been raised on Hoverl every year.
Most Ukrainians cherish the dream of conquering Hoverla, while the rest have already been there and dream of Everest. And there is something to admire there. On the eastern side of the mountain, one of the sources of the Prut River gurgles, and a cascade of waterfalls more than 80 meters high roars nearby. Hoverla is located on the border of the Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian regions, and therefore is part of the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve and the Carpathian National Nature Park at the same time and is protected by both. The slopes of the mountain are enchanted by beech and spruce forests, their silence and tranquility help to feel the Carpathian spirit and unity with nature. Many animals can be found in forest thickets, some species are even listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. The forest wolf, squirrel, fox, wolf, red deer, roe deer, forest cat and brown bear found their home here. And owls, cuckoos, titmice, hawks, peregrine falcons, buzzards and many, many other birds rustle among the trees and bushes with their feathered wings.

And if forests with their local inhabitants and rapid streams of rivers are not something extraordinary, then it is worth climbing to a height of 1,500 meters, and wide spaces covered with alpine meadows will appear in front of us - Ukrainian meadows. Every Ukrainian, upon hearing about the Poloniny, immediately imagines a real Hutsul in national dress, with a trembita, loudly trumpeting and spreading this enchanting music on the slopes of the Carpathians, and somewhere nearby, a flock of sheep grazing peacefully in a meadow. It is unlikely that you will meet a flock or a hutsul on Hoverli, but you will be able to admire the polonins to incredible delight.
And so, after walking another 600 meters along the path, a landscape of unique beauty will open before you: the Montenegrin mountain range is covered with forests, the peaks of the Carpathian mountains, shining with the greenery of meadows, and the blue sky, which fascinates with its immensity and infinity.
Hoverla attracts more and more tourists and climbers every year. Scientists conducted research and established that for the well-being of the mountain, the ecological load should not exceed 200 people per day. Take care of our nature and love Ukraine.

The height of Hoverla is 2061 meters above sea level.

The first tourist route to the top was opened in 1880.

For the 5th anniversary of the Independence Day of Ukraine, a slab with embedded capsules was installed on Hoverla. They have land from every region of the country.

By the 18th anniversary of the proclamation of the Act on State Sovereignty of Ukraine, a large metal cross, a sculpture of the Ukrainian trident and a concrete pillar were installed on the top of the mountain.

On the day of the 21st anniversary of the Constitution of Ukraine, an all-Ukrainian record was set by the participants of the "Glorify You, Carpathians!" They unfurled the 110-meter State flag weighing several tens of kilograms.
In June 2018, Dmytro Kotov, a veteran of the Donbas war, fulfilled his dream. As a result of hostilities in the East of Ukraine in 2016, he was seriously wounded and lost both legs. After a long rehabilitation, the soldier learned to walk again and became the first person to conquer the peak of Hoverla on two prosthetic legs. Dmytro dedicated his achievement to his brothers with the hope of inspiring them to a new life after the war.
