Valentine's Day, or Valentine's Day, is a holiday celebrated on February 14 by many people around the world. In the USA - since 1777, in the CIS countries - since the beginning of the 90s. The history of Valentine's Day dates back to the Lupercalia of Ancient Rome. Lupercalia is a festival of eroticism in honor of the goddess of "feverish" love Juno Februata and the god Faun (Luperk is one of his nicknames), the patron saint of herds, which was celebrated annually on February 14th.

In 494 a.d. e. Pope Gelasius I attempted to ban the Lupercalia. The holiday, which came to replace the Lupercalia, was assigned a heavenly patron - Saint Valentine, whom the Roman emperor Claudius II ordered to be killed for his preaching among young people. He was executed on 14 February. Claudius II reasoned that a married soldier was unlikely to be brave and desperate, so he forbade the legionnaires to marry. Bishop of the city of Terni Valentin thought differently and secretly married soldiers in love.

After some time, Valentine was captured and sentenced to death. In prison, the priest Valentine fell in love with the daughter of either his executioner. But, unfortunately, Valentine's love did not save him, and he was nevertheless executed on February 14 in approximately 270 AD. Before his death, Valentine wrote a love letter to his beloved, which he ended with the words "From Your Valentine." According to legend, this letter marked the beginning of the tradition of writing letters to your loved ones with declarations of love - valentines.

Most of the "valentines" are anonymous, have no return address, written from right to left or left hand. So it is accepted - it adds mystery. True, the recipients are then forced to look for an anonymous messenger if they believe in fate.

Happy Valentine's Day to all lovers! May love and grace always burn in your sincere hearts. In life, it is very rare to meet someone with whom you are ready to go even to the ends of the world. If you are lucky enough to find your man, then be affectionate and reverent with him. Be careful with each other's feelings and never betray your fragile love. Happiness cannot be earned, it can only be found by giving another piece of your soul.
