Monday
This day was the meeting day. It was on Monday that our ancestors invited close friends and relatives to their place.
The whole family gathered at a large table. The hostesses made goodies all day long: they could not do without casseroles, dumplings and cabbage rolls. On the first day of the week, people made a scarecrow and placed it in the center of a village or town. Thus, it delighted the locals until Sunday.
Also, from the very morning, the housewives cleaned, after sunrise they cooked and ate pancakes. They were supposed to be the first dish of Maslenitsa. Pancakes were also put on plates near the house. They were left for all the deceased relatives.

Tuesday
The second day of the week was distinguished by the fact that they made bridesmaids on Maslenitsa. Parents of girls and boys went to visit each other, and the guys were looking for their future wives at the festivities and the celebration of Maslenitsa. They had to have time to spend the bride before Lent.

Wednesday
This day was special because, according to tradition, the future spouse came to the girl's house. The mother-in-law had to prepare a rich table and bake pancakes for her son-in-law. At the same time, the whole family gathered for dinner. The son-in-law was supposed to help his mother-in-law, compliment her and build relationships with her.

Thursday
One of my favorite days, because on Thursday it was forbidden to work. It was on Thursday that people started mass celebrations, stopped family feasts and had fun to the fullest.
Guys and girls went out to the main streets of villages and cities and played various games, danced, played instruments, rode a sleigh, arranged fistfights.

Friday
That day was already fun mother-in-law. She gathered friends, relatives, acquaintances and went to visit her son-in-law. The son-in-law, together with the future chosen one, had to set the table, bake pancakes and do everything in order to please the mother-in-law. For example, he made compliments, danced near her, carried food and much more

Saturday
On Saturday, the future wife was supposed to invite all the sisters of her beloved to visit. From the very morning she cooked a lot of different food.
In addition to pancakes, dumplings, donuts, fish and much more were served for dinner. Also, the girl had to prepare gifts to appease the sisters of her future husband. There was also a place for fun: the girls guessed at the betrothed and danced.

Sunday
From early morning people went to church and prayed for the living. They also remembered those who left them. After the morning prayer, the Hostesses prepared for the feast, they cooked a lot before fasting.
On Forgiveness Sunday, adults and children asked each other for forgiveness for all offenses and sins. After that, the families saw off the oil week, went out into the square and burned the effigy.
