First and foremost, as a working single mom, I simply do not have the time to properly care for a dog. Dogs require a lot of attention and exercise, and I know that I would not be able to give a new pet the attention it deserves. I work long hours, and my son is in school during the day, which would leave our hypothetical dog alone for extended periods of time. It wouldn't be fair to leave a dog cooped up in our home all day without the proper exercise and attention that it needs.

In addition to time, the financial burden of owning a pet dog is significant. From vet bills to food and grooming, the costs can add up quickly. As a single mother, I have to be mindful of every penny that I spend, and I simply cannot afford to add a pet to our budget right now.

Despite the current challenges, my son and I are committed to making a dog a part of our family in the future. We understand that it will take some time to save up the money and make the necessary arrangements to ensure that our dog has a happy and healthy life.

When the time is right, we plan to adopt a rescue dog that is in need of a loving home. Not only will this help a dog in need, but it will also provide my son with the opportunity to learn about the importance of animal rescue and giving back to our community.

Until that day comes, we will continue to enjoy the company of our friends' and family's dogs, and my son will learn important lessons about the responsibilities that come with pet ownership. While we may not be able to have a dog right now, we are committed to making it happen in the future, when the time is right.
