The recipe for the most healthy pancakes for maslenitsa
id: 10049999

One of the most famous Maslenitsa traditions is pancakes. Pancakes are thin, round flatbreads that are made from dough based on flour, milk, and eggs. Throughout the week of Maslenitsa, people eat pancakes with various fillings such as butter, condensed milk, jam or cheese.

Another tradition of Maslenitsa is sleigh rides. On this day, children and adults descend from the slides, which are called "Shrovetide". This tradition symbolizes farewell to winter and welcome to spring.

Also during Maslenitsa, various contests and games are held, such as running with a spoon in your mouth, tug of war and dancing in a circle. In some regions of Ukraine, competitions are held to build high towers from pancakes.

On the last day of Maslenitsa, before the burning of the effigy of Maslenitsa, a Maslenitsa chant is held. People walk the streets and sing songs that symbolize farewell to Maslenitsa and the meeting of Great Lent.

After burning the effigy of Maslenitsa, Great Lent begins, which lasts 40 days and ends on the day of the Resurrection of Christ - Easter. On this day, people gather in churches and celebrate the beginning of Lent.
