1. Butterfly Valley
Valley of the Butterflies, a bay near Fethiye, Turkey
Now, if we imagine Turkey as the most southeastern edge of Europe, then this magical place is located in this very place. Far from noisy beaches and dreary hotels... Leaving the usual rest for snobs, plunge into the feeling of unity with nature... This is the Valley of the Butterflies.
Butterfly Valley is located on the west coast of Belceiz Bay. You can only get here by sea, so ships from Fethiye leave for this wonderful place every day.
Butterfly Valley is one of the most attractive places around Fethiye. In 1995, this valley was declared a nature reserve and completely closed to buildings. Now here is a zone of relaxation, pleasure, a territory of unity with nature, here you can stay in small bungalows, there is a cafe where master classes in cooking Indian food are held. Soft ottomans are scattered on the beach, hammocks are stretched between the trees, there are areas for yoga and meditation. There is a library. There is a rock bar where you can fall asleep right on the rocks on soft mattresses and sleep through the night to the sound of the surf... It is surprisingly quiet and peaceful here...
2. Lighthouse on the edge of the earth.
Isle of Skye, Scotland.
The westernmost point of the Isle of Skye... Cold wind from the ocean and a beautiful sunset.
Neit Point Lighthouse. A soft combination of yellow and black instead of red, a beautiful sunset, not a soul around ... probably the most romantic lighthouse in the world :) It was built in 1909, the 18-meter lighthouse rises at a height of 62 meters above sea level. Its light is visible for 24 miles. The lighthouse itself is nameless, it got its name from the westernmost cape of the island.
3. Hotel for lovers.
Isle of Skye, Scotland.
And very close, 10 minutes drive from this lighthouse, you can stay with Linda Jackson in her stunning B&B "Kelpie Cottage"
4. 1000 islands at the equator - a night on a desert island!
Pulau Seribu, Indonesia.
Almost on the equator, two hundred kilometers from Jakarta, there is a group of islands that give incomparable sensations. It is here that you can spend the night together on the island, where there will be not a soul except you! And in the morning again go to the mainland on one of the fishing boats...
5. Night Rio
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Probably the most interesting urban landscape I have ever seen. Beautiful bizarre green stone mountains, slums and skyscrapers... and the Atlantic Ocean. This is Rio... Bird's eye view at night from the Sugarloaf. Rio at night. Two lines of the cable car and we are at the top. Night city at a glance.
6. Rocky Porto Monitz and the Atlantic Ocean.
The town of Porto Moniz, Madeira Island, Portugal.
From the capital of the island of Funchal to the town at the other end of the island of Porto Moniz can be reached in 2 hours by bus along the mountain serpentine. On the other side of the island, the coast is completely different, there are few built-up houses, only occasionally small villages come across, but there are huge wide coastal strips - there is a place where the ocean rages. This part of the island turned out to be much more beautiful!! The small resort of Porto Moniz is just an ideal place for family holidays and those who like to relax away from the bustle of the city of Funchal. What else I especially liked about this town is the natural pools that are made right in the ocean, the fences are filled with concrete, behind which the ocean is always raging, and in these pools it is calm and pleasant to swim. Moreover, these pools look absolutely natural, they left all the stones and rocks, they only delimited a fairly large territory into different pools with convenient entries and information plates about the depth in different areas.
