Feel the body
Sit comfortably, close your eyes, get comfortable in this position for a while. Notice the sensations in your body. In some area you will notice a dominant sensation. It can be anything: tingling in the temples, itching in the left big toe, heaviness in the chest. Pay attention to this sensation carefully. There is no need to concentrate, let it be quiet attention. After a while, the first dominant sensation will become less pronounced and another will appear. Notice the new sensation. After a couple of minutes, again, the second sensation will subside, and another part of the body will draw your attention. Keep switching focus for a while. Of course, after a while, you will find that you are thinking about something completely different. Slowly open your eyes.
This simple exercise allows the body to calm down and relieve tension. When the body is not in fight-or-flight mode, we go into stay-and-play mode quite easily and can work in a state of creativity.
Recover
Sit or stand somewhere, give yourself time to settle in. Pay attention to sounds. For 20 seconds, analyze the noises around you - loud and quiet, near and far. We focus on visual sensations. For 20 seconds, focus on what you see around you at the moment - colors, textures, light and shadow.
Focus on smells
Again the duration is 20 seconds. What flavor prevails? The smell of food, coffee, perfume? Now 20 seconds for mouthfeel. Feel the taste of toothpaste, coffee, and maybe chewing gum? Finally, the sense of touch. Feel the texture of your clothes, the air temperature, the weight of your limbs in 20 seconds. By spending a few minutes with this technique, we can activate the consciousness and each of the senses, distance ourselves from the "mental chatter". Now it will be much easier to concentrate on the really important tasks.
