“When I'm with my family, we turn off our phones from 18:00 to 20:00: that's dinner time in Denmark. So we get the opportunity to exchange views and really feel like a single family, ”says the expert. Viking is highly critical of social media, which he says makes us unhappy because it actively stimulates us to constantly compare ourselves to others.
Meditate
“When I'm not working, I try to find time to practice mindfulness and focus on myself. In Bhutan, some schools have a minute of silence for meditation. One study of more than 8,000 students found that group members who practiced mindfulness exercises were happier,” Wiking says.
