Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan
Each of us at least once must be in the spring in Japan, when all the streets, parks, squares, alleys of its cities are buried in a sea of cherry blossoms. O-Hanami is one of the main Japanese holidays, symbolizing the long-awaited arrival of spring and marked by a real natural miracle - cherry blossoms. Thousands of Japanese and guests of the country these days walk along the alleys, go to rest in parks, gardens and nature reserves in order to devote as much time as possible to admiring the main tree of the country. And even at night, because after 6 pm the trees are specially illuminated with lanterns, lights, garlands, and an incredible, fabulous atmosphere is created.
The best places to see flowers in Japan are Kyoto and Tokyo. In Tokyo, be sure to look into Ueno, Imperial, Shinjuku parks, and also take a walk to Yasukuni Shrine, where the most beautiful pale pink panoramas are. In Kyoto, you can have a great time in Maruyama Park, on the Philosopher's Trail, as well as on the territory of the Heian Shrine.
The cherry blossom period is short - no more than 2 weeks, however, due to the fact that Japan is a rather long country, you can admire the flowering for more than a month. Already from March 20, the first blooms appear in the south of the country, and this riot of colors lasts until mid-April in the north.
Lisse and Haarlem, the Netherlands
In Europe, the main blooming action takes place in the Netherlands, when tulips begin to bloom throughout the country in April. But for a real flower festival, you should go to the small town of Lisse, to the famous Keukenhof Royal Flower Park, which traditionally hosts an incredible flower festival every third weekend of April (this year - April 22-23).

It all starts on Saturday morning in the city of Noordwijk, from where a large-scale flower parade starts: more than 50 huge rafts, carts, decorated with incredibly bright sculptures of fresh flowers, mostly tulips. The parade makes a long journey and gets to the Keukenhof park in Lisse, where those who wish can admire the flower sculptures almost all day, and then back on the road to the town of Haarlem, where the festival officially ends on Sunday evening and festive festivities begin.

If on April 22-23 you can’t come to the Netherlands, but you really want to admire the tulip fields, then you should know that for this you can come to Keukenhof Park from mid-April to mid-May. For a whole month, the park blooms with all colors, and florists and sculptors from around the world decorate its territory with various flower arrangements (and not only from tulips).
Istanbul, Turkey
Traditionally, during the May holidays, a considerable percentage of Ukrainians go to rest in popular Turkish beach resorts. But what if we change the route a little and go to no less sunny, but brighter and more colorful Istanbul?!

May is one of the most ideal months for exploring Istanbul, thanks to the still not hot, but already very warm weather, which allows you to walk around the city day and night and explore all its treasures. Everything is blooming around, and it is at the beginning of May (from 5 to 6) that the city celebrates the Meeting of Spring holiday, when many concerts, parades and festivities with treats take place on the streets of Istanbul.

And in addition to the entertainment program, we recommend doing excursions. For example, learn all the most interesting things about the Asian part of Istanbul or try the best street food in Istanbul in the secret corners of the city.
And in general, the whole of May in the city is one big holiday: the Puppet Festival, the International Theater Festival, Youth Day and others.

Nicosia, Limassol and Paphos, Cyprus
Another great option to visit in spring is Cyprus. And depending on what you want to get from your vacation, you should choose a place and time. If you are an inquisitive traveler and dream of exploring historical places, cultural attractions, then you should definitely visit Nicosia, which is literally located at the crossroads of cultures, countries and even times. It is the only capital in the world divided between two countries (Cyprus and Northern Cyprus) and two peoples (Greeks and Turks), and each of them brought to the city a part of their culture, which is kept in museums, city monuments and gardens.
It is best to come to Nicosia in April or early May, while the air is warm enough, but not hot yet. And if you are dreaming of an unobtrusive beach holiday with friends, family or loved one, Limassol is more suitable for you - the most popular resort in Cyprus with a lot of entertainment and wide clean beaches.

Those who would like to combine both cultural and beach holidays should look into Paphos, which will please you with chic beaches, monuments of ancient Greek civilization. In addition, in 2017 Paphos was recognized as the European Capital of Culture, so be prepared for a unique cultural pCordoba, Spain
If you have always dreamed of visiting Andalusia, one of the most picturesque corners of Spain, then there is no better time than spring. Andalusia is 8 amazing provinces where history lives, cultures mix, the best culinary traditions are kept and wonderful beaches of the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts are located.
If you are in Andalusia in the spring, be sure to check out the province of Cordoba, where in the first two weeks of May a flower festival takes place on Spanish patios. It's something incredible when all the inhabitants of the houses in the province decorate their houses with fancy little flowerpots.

A patio is a patio, within the framework of the festival, competitions are held annually for the best patio, or rather, the most picturesque one, because according to the rules of the competition, its territory should have a small fountain (or other source of water), a mosaic and many, many flowers (in no case non-artificial case). Ordinary residents of the city and guests can also appreciate all this, since the owners of the yards open their doors to everyone during the festival.rogram.

Crete, Greece
The island of Crete can be no less wonderful place for spending spring holidays. As in the whole world, nature also blooms here with spring, the scent of tropical flowers is in the air, and the picturesque bays delight with tranquility and a secluded atmosphere, because the season is just beginning and tourists have not yet had time to occupy the island.

But you can swim: from mid-May on Crete, the water temperature is already + 21-23 ° C, and the air temperature is + 20-25 ° C, while neither strong winds nor rain bother you. And this allows you not only to splash in the water and take sunbaths, but also to thoroughly explore the island. Visit the Palace of Knossos, climb Mount Dikti (where Zeus himself was born), visit the museum of the famous artist El Greco, and relax by Lake Voulismeni. And be sure to check out the Cyprus Botanical Park, where you will see a real spring: tropical flowers, orange trees, vineyards, as well as flocks of butterflies and wild birds.

The compact size of Crete allows you to get acquainted with all its corners and view Crete from different angles. This can be done on the excursion "Isle of Crete - a mosaic of cultures."

Have a nice holiday ❤️
