Listen to each other. Instead of picking up arguments and defending your position, learn to listen to each other. Try to understand your partner's point of view and why he/she thinks so.

Don't use accusations. Instead of blaming, use "I-messages" to express your feelings and needs. For example, say "I feel offended when you don't come home on time" instead of "You're always late and it pisses me off."

Do not resort to insults and threats. Insults and threats will not help resolve the conflict and can only worsen the situation. Try to stay calm and not get personal.

Find a compromise. Instead of claiming an absolute victory, try to find a compromise solution that will suit both sides. Be open to compromise and be willing to seek solutions together.

Don't forget about love and respect. During conflict, it's easy to forget that you love and respect each other. Remind each other of your feelings and try to solve problems together.

Don't leave the conversation for later. Solve problems as soon as they arise. If you put off the conversation until later, then the problem can only get worse.
