Easter Paska is one of the most popular and traditional Easter dishes in Ukraine. This sweet Easter cake is prepared for Easter and is used during various festive ceremonies and traditions.
Easter paska is made using ingredients such as flour, eggs, sugar, yeast, butter, sour cream and various fruits, nuts and spices. Paska recipes may vary slightly depending on the region, but in general they are very similar.
The first step in making pasca is preparing the dough. To do this, pour flour into a large bowl, add sugar, baking powder and eggs, and begin to knead the dough. Then butter, sour cream, fruits and nuts are added to the dough, and kneading is continued until the dough becomes homogeneous.
After the dough is ready, it is laid out in a mold and left for a while so that the dough rises. Then the pasca is sent to the oven and baked until cooked. At the end, the pasca is taken out of the oven and allowed to cool.
However, the main feature of the Easter paschal is its decoration. To do this, paska is covered with icing or sprinkled with powdered sugar, and also decorated with various fruits, nuts or berries. Some decorations may have religious symbolism, such as a cross or an image of bread and wine.
Easter Paska is of great importance in Ukrainian culture and traditions, and its preparation and decoration is a true art, passed down from generation to generation.
