There is an official direction in psychology and medicine, which is called animal therapy - this is hippotherapy, that is, the use of horses and riding as "medicine".
The founder of hippotherapy is the French doctor and psychologist Y. Lallery, who used this method to help patients achieve motor and mental independence and make a person capable of independently overcoming problems that arise in his life. Hippotherapy is actually universal. It allows both children and adults to cope with such serious diseases as cerebral palsy, poliomyelitis, damage to the senses, hearing and vision loss, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, and mental diseases, etc. What is the success and effectiveness of horse riding? A horse gives a feeling of stability, and this feeling is the basis for removing fears in children and adults. Trusting the horse, the rider relies on the fact that he will cope with those changes in the environment that he himself is not yet able to cope with. And through trust in horses comes trust in people. Horses are also used to improve self-esteem and relieve depression. And riding a horse itself causes a firework of emotions, feelings, and experiences in the rider, and in any person who is just next to the horse. Children are delighted to tell their friends about their pets, and draw them with pleasure.
