What most strikes foreigners in Ukraine and Ukrainians part 1

"Sincerity. If you have been to other countries, you have seen that people there are very kind, but I do not believe that this is sincere. As for me, it is often just a mask. In Ukraine, this is not so, here it is immediately clear how a person treats you what he likes and what he doesn't," says Miami-based photographer Gabriel Carrasco.

"I like and amaze a lot about Ukrainians. But at the top of my list is the warmth and sincere hospitality, how easily I can communicate with them on a deep, soulful level. An hour of tea and good conversation is the best medicine for the heart and soul. This is , which is a unique feature of Ukrainians, and something that I appreciated during my life in Ukraine," admits Randa, who returned to her homeland, the United States, after 21 years in Ukraine.

At the same time, Randa does not like the rudeness of men to women in public places.

“On the subway or bus, men would often push me away just to get through and take a seat. Very rarely did a man give up his seat to a woman, no matter how old she was, no matter how heavy her bags were. As a rule, they simply closed their eyes or unfolded a newspaper and pretended not to see."

Johannes Vamberg from Denmark has similar impressions: "The most annoying thing is the lack of mutual respect, the lack of mutual courtesy. This applies to both the elderly and young people. This is an attempt to be the first without respecting others ...".

"The people I met in Ukraine were all highly educated and well-mannered," says creative director of advertising agency Hideo from Japan.

"It seems to me that Ukrainians are very hospitable and united as a nation. They have pride and patriotism - it's amazing to see how many national colors are everywhere: flags in taxis, on buildings, bracelets and even fences on the streets," says British photographer Peter Fothergill.
“On the positive side, Ukrainian girls. Of course, this is one of the reasons that I am here!”, Gabriel Carrasco from the USA admits.

"Ukrainian women are smart, well organized and good housewives," sums up private entrepreneur Shoaib Khan from Pakistan.

"Very beautiful and warm-hearted women," says Japanese cameraman Toshiyuki.
