Officially, the celebration is celebrated on May 13 all over the world, and on May 14 in Ukraine.
It is known that in 1908, the American Anna Jervis proposed the establishment of Mother's Day. The motivation is sad but understandable - her mother passed away prematurely, which is why Jervis wanted all the children on this Earth to honor their mothers every year. She wrote letters of initiative for a long time and achieved results - in 1910, the state of Virginia was the first to recognize Mother's Day as an official holiday.
