A non-working wife who takes care of the house and children - a rare woman in our time chooses this path for herself. On the other hand, historically, a woman is the keeper of the hearth, the personification of comfort and peace.
Of course, ideally, a wife should be moderately liberated, smart, contribute a certain share to the family budget, be able to cook dinner and clean the apartment (fortunately, the ability to wash and wash dishes is not necessary in our time - male scientists, apparently taught by bitter experience, came up with machines that will do it better than any housewife).
But this is the ideal. And now, in the era of developed feminism, there are quite a few women who do not want to work, but devote all their time to home and family.
Why does a man choose a housewife as his wife?
One of the reasons for choosing such a wife is jealousy. There is a type of men who are jealous with or without reason. They go berserk just because their missus smiled in response to the smile of another man. In this case, becoming a housewife is more the desire not of the woman herself, but of her husband. After all, there are male colleagues at work.
The second reason is financial. If the husband gets enough, then the wife simply does not need to spend her time, which she can devote to the family, on earning money. And if the husband has a country house with a large garden, then the wife will have enough work at home.
