Even if you rarely travel, only on vacation by the sea, how nice it is to plan this trip. So you come to another country, but you don’t know where to start getting acquainted with this very country. Well, except for sightseeing. Although this is also important. It is important to make your to-do list of things to do when you travel to another country. After the research conducted by scientists, it turned out that it is not so much rest that makes people happy as its expectation, experienced as a feeling of happiness. And in anticipation of future pleasure, the pleasure centers in the brain begin to work.
So I made my list of things that work for me.
1. MAKE A ROUTE
One way or another, no matter how much I want to stand in line at the ticket office for a ticket or to take a picture against the backdrop of that beautiful building, I will have to go to must see places and attractions. Because I did not see - I was not! But you can be smart about making a list of places and, for example, buy tickets online to skip the line or come early for photo shoots while all the tourists are sleeping and not caught in the frame. The main thing is to think over this list, where and when. And be sure to include non-tourist trails there, which will allow you to be alone with yourself, enjoying the beauty and silence around. Or they will give you the opportunity to see something like that, which you can later surprise and share with friends. But be careful: this is an opportunity to make a non-tourist place very popular! :)
2. TRY THE LOCAL CUISINE
You can certainly touch the history and culture of the people by tasting the local food. How can you visit, for example, Georgia and not try khinkali or khachapuri? Don't try Tom Yum soup in Thailand? In the Balkans, do not try Bosnian cevapcici and Montenegrin splash? In Turkey, not drinking a cup of scalding Turkish coffee and tea is generally a crime against your taste glands, if only because ordinary coffee is either not served here, or it is so disgusting that you immediately understand that the Turks are smartly promoting their brand. After different dishes, the unaccustomed stomach may suffer or sing odes to local chefs. So, according to national dishes, one can understand the main taste preferences of the country and even the worldview.
3. LEARN A COUPLE OF WORDS IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE COUNTRY
Feel like a local - learn at least a couple of commonly used words. Respect for your person is guaranteed. Especially if you have learned how to praise the hostess in Nepalese, who invited you to a delicious dinner, how to say a toast in German, or how to say hello to your grandmother at the entrance.
