June 8 is world oceans day
id: 10044389

World Oceans Day is celebrated annually on June 8. This international holiday was established by a resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations in 2008. The purpose of this day is to draw attention to the importance of the oceans to our planet and support efforts to protect and sustainably use them.

World Oceans Day aims to raise awareness of issues facing the oceans, such as pollution, climate change, overfishing and biodiversity loss. The day also serves as a reminder of the need for action and initiatives at the level of governments, the public and the private sector to preserve and restore the health of the oceans.

Of course, it can also be a great day for learning activities, visiting aquariums or oceanariums, participating in coastal cleanups, and looking at ways to use ocean resources efficiently.
